When you publish your new site on an existing domain, some pages from your old site may become inaccessible, creating broken links. To prevent visitors and search engines from encountering errors, it is essential to set up redirects to the new pages.

Identify Old Pages

To find the pages from your old site that are indexed on Google, go to Google and type site:"domain.com". You will get a list of pages that are still indexed.

Set Up Redirects in CentralApp

Go to the Advanced Settings of your site on CentralApp (website editor -> Website Settings)

For each page of your old site that you want to redirect, create a separate line in the redirect settings.

Enter the full URL of the new page where visitors should be sent, making sure to include the language code if your site is multilingual. This ensures that each outdated link points correctly to its counterpart on the new site.

Example:

  • Old page: domain.com/contact

  • Redirect to: domain.com/en/contact

Once all your redirects are set up, your visitors and search engines will automatically be directed to the correct pages.
