About
CentralApp allows you to create a detailed menu directly on your website. This solution, ideal for SEO due to its content being indexable by search engines and much more flexible than a PDF file, is highly recommended.
Create a Detailed Menu
- Go to the website editor
- In the options, click on "Menu"
- Then click on "Create Menu" on the right side of the screen
- Choose "Create a Detailed Menu"
Next, fill in the requested information before saving:
- Menu name: our menu, wine list, lunch menu, brunch, our drinks, etc.
- A description if needed: from 12pm to 2pm, every Sunday, alcohol-free options included, etc.
- VAT and currency must be filled in.
Add a section
Your menu should be organized into sections. You can easily create sections like Starters, Main Courses, Salads, Drinks, Desserts, etc.
To add and/or manage your menu sections, go to Settings > Sections in the right panel:
- Create your section by giving it a name
- Add more details in the description if necessary
- Indicate if you want photos you add (possibly) to the items in this section to be displayed on your site
- Once saved, your section is created.
You can easily reorganize your sections using drag & drop, thanks to the move icon on the left of the section. You can change the section's settings at any time by clicking the edit icon or delete it by clicking the trash icon.
Important: A section with no items will not be displayed on the website.
Add an Item
There are two options for creating an item:
Option 1: Click on "Quick Add" next to the desired section, then fill in the basic item information (name, description, and price). This method is simple and quick but less suitable if you need to manage translations, price variations, or add a photo.
Option 2: Use the panel on the right of the menu by clicking on "Manage Items", then "Add a New Item" to enjoy more flexibility. You can then complete all item details, including automatic translation if needed: name, description, price/promotional price, section, price variations (e.g., wine by glass or bottle), attributes (allergens, popular, vegetarian, spicy, etc.), and add a photo if desired.
🔎 How to add photos to your menu items
Once the item is created, you can always modify it. To do so, click on the edit icon for the item.
Note: An item must be part of a section to be published.
Publish the Menu
Once your menu is ready to be published, you can do so by clicking on "Publish" in the right menu panel. You can publish your menu permanently, from a specific date, or for a given period. You can also choose whether or not to display prices on the menu.
