About

This article guides you step by step to prepare and import your detailed menu into CentralApp using a CSV file. Importing allows you to quickly create many dishes.

Step 1: Prepare your menu on CentralApp

Before preparing your file, you need to create the structure of your menu in the app.

  • Create your detailed menu in the menus section of CentralApp

  • Create the sections of this menu (for example: Starters, Main Courses, Desserts)

  • Locate the ID of each section: Stay on the section management page. Each section you create has a unique ID (displayed just below the section name). They are essential to link each dish to the correct category in your import file.

Step 2: Prepare your Excel or Google Sheets file

Now you will create the table containing all the information about your dishes.

  • Create column headers: On row 1 of your spreadsheet, create exactly the following 4 columns:

Column

Header (Row 1)

Description

A

title.fr

The name of the dish (if your main language is French)

B

description.fr

The description of the dish (if your main language is French)

C

price

The price of the dish

D

section

The corresponding section ID

  • Fill in your table: From row 2 onward, enter the data for each dish:

    • Column A (title.fr): The name of your dish

    • Column B (description.fr): The description of your dish

    • Column C (price): The price of the dish

      • Format: The price must be a raw number (no currency symbol).

      • Decimals: Use a period (.) and not a comma (,) for cents (for example, 12.50 for €12.50)

    • Column D (section): The corresponding section ID you noted in Step 1

Step 3: Import your file

Once your table is complete, you are ready to import it into CentralApp.

  • Export to CSV: In Excel or Google Sheets, export or download your file in CSV format.

  • Import into CentralApp:

    1. In the menu management interface of CentralApp, go to the detailed menu where you want to add the dishes

    2. Use the file import option

    3. Select the CSV file you just exported

Verification and validation:

  • A verification table will appear, allowing you to check that the data is correctly recognized (titles, prices, sections).

  • If all information is correct, validate the import. Your detailed dishes will be automatically added to their respective sections!

If you encounter issues, carefully check the column headers and price format.
