Why Import Your Contacts

Importing your contacts into CentralApp offers several advantages:

  • Save time: no need to manually re-enter your existing data.

  • Centralize your information: all your customer data is gathered on a single platform.

  • Maintain data reliability: a single up-to-date file allows better tracking of your customers and personalizes your communications.

Thus, whether you are coming from a spreadsheet or another tool, CentralApp facilitates the quick and secure integration of your contacts.

How to Import Your Contacts

Contact import can be done in two ways: via CSV file or through a migration performed by our team.

From the Client tab at the top of your platform, click on "import clients".

1. CSV Import (Excel, Google Sheets…)

If your contacts are already structured in a spreadsheet, CSV import is the quickest solution.

Recommended File Format

Your CSV must match the template provided by CentralApp, available for download in the import section (import-sample.csv).

It includes:

  • Expected columns: first name, last name, email, phone, notes, date of birth, etc.

  • Recommended format for each field:

  • Mandatory and optional fields clearly identified.

Examples of common errors:

  • Missing or misspelled columns

  • Dates in YYYY-MM-DD format instead of DD/MM/YYYY

  • Emails without @ or with spaces

  • Phone numbers with special characters

Update your file by checking the expected columns and the recommended format for each field (dates, emails, numbers…) and pay attention to mandatory and optional fields. Before launching the import, compare your file with the template to avoid any errors.

Import Procedure

  1. Drag and drop your CSV file into the designated area, or click to select it from your explorer.

  2. CentralApp automatically checks the file's validity.

  3. If an error is detected, a specific message indicates the column or value to correct.

  4. Once corrected, restart the import to integrate your contacts.

2. Request a Migration by Our Team

If you prefer to delegate the import or if your data requires special processing:

  1. Access the import section in CentralApp.

  2. Click on "Request a migration".

  3. Send us your files.

Our team will analyze your data and handle the complete integration to ensure your customer base is perfectly compliant.

Best Practices

To successfully import and avoid errors:

  • Check your file before import: ensure all columns and formats match the template.

  • Opt for our migration service if your data is complex or if you have any doubts.

  • Back up your existing database to avoid any accidental loss of information.

Important: importing, whether via CSV or by our team, is final and irreversible. New data replaces or complements your existing base and becomes your reference. Carefully check your files before launching the operation.
