Why Create a Photo Gallery
Images play a central role in the perception of your establishment:
Attract Attention: Quality photos immediately give a professional and appealing impression.
Showcase Your Offer: Whether it's your dishes, your space, or your events, images illustrate what you offer better than words.
Boost Your SEO: Each photo can contribute to your search engine ranking through descriptions and alternative texts (alt text).
If you don't have professional photos yet, investing in a photographer quickly pays off thanks to the visual appeal they bring to your site.
How to Add and Organize Your Photos
Add Photos from the Editor
In your site's editor, click on Photos and Visuals.
Click in the designated frame to upload your images from your computer (Click to Browse).
You can also use royalty-free images via Unsplash or Pexels.
Crop your photos after uploading if necessary.
Change the Order of Photos
To change the display order:
Click on a photo, hold the click and drag it to the desired location (drag & drop).
The final layout on the site automatically adjusts for optimal visibility.
Manage and Assign Your Photos
View: Click the ≡ button to display all your imported images and their information (credits, descriptions, source link).
Delete: To remove a photo from your gallery, select it and then click Delete. The photo will be immediately removed from the site but can be re-imported if needed.
Respecting copyright is essential, especially for external images:
Click the ≡ button to access management options.
Fill in the fields:
Author/Source: Indicate the name or source of the image (e.g., “Photo credit: Jane Doe” or “Source: Unsplash”).
Website Link (optional): Add the author's URL or portfolio.
Description/Alternative Text (SEO): Accurately describe the image content for accessibility and SEO.
Best Practices for an Effective Photo Gallery
Number and Diversity
An ideal gallery contains 6 to 10 photos.
Avoid galleries that are too limited (<6 photos) or too focused on a single subject (e.g., only dishes).
If you want to publish more than 10 images, connect your Instagram account to display your feed directly, and use other sections to show your team, menu, or events.
Consistency and Quality
Avoid photos with too varied styles to maintain visual harmony.
Do not publish flyers, posters, or documents with text.
Ensure files are large enough (minimum 400 px on each side).
SEO Enhancement and Accessibility
Each photo should have a descriptive alternative text.
Properly credit images to respect copyright and enhance your site's credibility.
