What is a Meta Pixel and why verify it?
The Meta Pixel is a script that collects data on your site visitors' behavior (page views, events, conversions, interactions, etc.).
These data are used to:
Measure the performance of your Meta campaigns (Facebook / Instagram)
Optimize the delivery of your ads
Create custom or lookalike audiences
Track conversions
If the Pixel is improperly installed or not connected, no reliable data will be transmitted to Meta, which can impact your advertising campaigns and performance analyses.
Before starting the verification, ensure that:
Your Meta Pixel has been created in the Meta Events Manager
The Pixel ID has been correctly added in CentralApp
The changes have been published on your site
After installing your Meta Pixel, it is important to verify if it is active.
Verify your Meta Pixel connection with Meta Pixel Helper
Follow the steps below to confirm that your Meta Pixel is functioning correctly:
Install the Meta Pixel Helper extension on your browser (Chrome).
Open your website in a new tab.
Click on the Meta Pixel Helper icon in the extensions bar.
Check the list of pixels and events detected on the page.
Ensure that your Meta Pixel appears as active (green icon).
If your Meta Pixel is visible and at least one event (e.g., PageView) is triggered, it means it is properly connected and sending data.
If your Meta Pixel is not detected
If Meta Pixel Helper does not detect any pixel or shows an error, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
The Meta Pixel ID provided is incorrect
The Pixel was not correctly added or published in CentralApp
Cookie consent prevents the Pixel from loading
A browser extension or script blocker is blocking Meta
In this case:
Check the Pixel ID
Ensure that the changes have been published
Test your site in incognito mode
Temporarily disable browser extensions
Check your cookie consent manager configuration
