When you launch a new site on an existing domain, some pages from your old site may become inaccessible. These "broken" links can harm your visitors' experience and your site's SEO. To prevent these issues, it's essential to set up redirects to the new pages.

Identify Old Pages

To find out which pages from your old site are still indexed by Google:

  1. Open Google.

  2. Type site:yourdomain.com.

You will get a list of pages that are still indexed. These pages should be redirected to your new site.

Set Up Redirects in CentralApp

For each obsolete page, follow these steps in CentralApp:

  1. Go to your site's Advanced Settings.

  2. Create a separate redirect line for each old page.

  3. Enter the full URL of the new destination page.

If your site is multilingual, remember to include the language code.

Example of a Redirect

  • Old page: domain.com/contact

  • New page: domain.com/en/contact

Once all your redirects are set up, your visitors and search engines will be automatically directed to the correct pages, ensuring smooth and error-free navigation.
