A menu thumbnail is an illustrative image associated with a complete menu on your site. It allows you to visually identify each menu (main menu, dishes menu, sharing menu, drinks menu, etc.) and understand its content at a glance.

Example: a drinks menu can be illustrated with an image of glasses or cocktails, while a sharing menu can be represented by dishes arranged in the center of the table. These thumbnails facilitate navigation and make your offerings more readable and attractive.

Why Add Thumbnails to Your Menus

Menu thumbnails are often the first visual element viewed by your visitors. Well-chosen, they allow you to:

  • Highlight your dishes or menu categories

  • Improve readability and navigation on your site

  • Enhance the visual consistency of your establishment

  • Encourage viewing the menu in detail

Up-to-date and quality visuals directly contribute to a better user experience.

Best Practices for Effective Thumbnails

For optimal results, here are some recommendations:

  • Use clear, well-framed, and bright images

  • Choose a visual representative of the menu category

  • Maintain a consistent style across all thumbnails

  • Avoid overly busy images or those with illegible text

  • Update visuals in case of menu or seasonal changes

Clear and harmonious thumbnails enhance the visual impact of your menu and facilitate navigation.
