Transfer Your Domain Name to CentralApp

Move an eligible domain from your current provider to CentralApp while keeping your current website address active during the process.

Written by Odile Lodewijck

Transferring a domain moves its registration and future renewal management from your current provider to CentralApp.

Before you start

Depending on the domain and its provider, you may need to:

  • unlock the domain for transfer,

  • disable DNSSEC,

  • obtain a transfer or authorization code, and

  • confirm that the domain is active and eligible for transfer.

Some domains cannot be transferred immediately after registration or a previous transfer. CentralApp checks the domain and displays the applicable requirement.

Start the transfer

  1. Log in to CentralApp and select your business.

  2. Open Domain name.

  3. Choose the option to add a domain you already own.

  4. Select the option to transfer the domain to CentralApp.

  5. Review the transfer price and future renewal price.

  6. Enter the authorization code if CentralApp requests it.

  7. Review the total and confirm the transfer.

After confirmation

The transfer status is displayed in CentralApp. The domain is added as a secondary domain first, so your current primary website address does not change automatically.

When the transfer and configuration are ready, you can make the transferred domain the primary domain from its details page.

If the transfer is refused

The dashboard explains common conditions such as a locked domain, an active DNSSEC configuration, a recent registration or transfer, an expired domain, an existing transfer, or a domain that is not transferable.

Follow the displayed action and try again, or contact CentralApp support when no action is available.
